PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

We have had a tremendous year here at Holly Springs Elementary.  We have so many wonderful attributes that contribute to the success of our students.  Our teachers and staff members are dedicated to providing an excellent learning environment in which our children can and do succeed.  We are focused on academic success; however, education at the elementary level  involves focusing on the whole child - from nutrition, physical activity, reaching the kinesthetic hands by learning through music and art. to making friends and building relationships with peers and adults.  Early childhood education is where the foundation of success begins.  Parent involvement is one key to success for our students.  Our parents are always willing to volunteer here at our school by being room mothers, stuffing hawk eyes, reading with students, working the book fair, proctoring for tests, sending in items for class projects and parties, just to name a few ways parents support our school.  Through our wonderful PTSO organization, the students are afforded a campus that is totally focused on them.  Our motto here at Holly Springs is "It's all about the children".  We want   everything we do on a daily basis to reflect this motto.  Our Partners in Education have supported our school by offering incentives for students as well as teachers and staff members throughout the year.  We would like to thank our partners:  Texas Road House, Stevie B's, Joe's Crab Shack, Chick-fil-a at the mall, Carrabos, TGI Fridays, Cold Stone, Long Horn, and Princess Parties.

The Partners in Education are able to support our school through their involvement with many events.  Please support these businesses to show our support for them.

Test scores represent student success.  Our 5^th grade State Writing Assessment results were terrific.  We had 19% of our students exceed.  We continue to see growth here at Holly Springs in the area of written communication. 

We currently have 19 Elementary Schools in Douglas County.  We are proud to announce that as a school we are in first place in Reading, Math and Science.  It takes all of us to make our school, students, teachers, staff and community successful.  Where there is teamwork, there is success.  Thank you all for your continued support of our school.  We look forward to another great year here at Holly Springs.
