Douglas County School System Appoints and Reassigns New Leaders

The Douglas County School System is pleased to announce the following appointments and new leadership assignments. The following positions were approved during a March 12 Board Meeting: 

·    Effective March 19, Area Executive Director Kwame Carr has been named Assistant Superintendent for District Operations to replace Dr. Tim Scott

·    Angela Carter, Principal of Factory Shoals Middle School, has been named Area Executive Director

·    Wiley Dailey, Director of Assessment, Accountability and Evaluation, has been named Area Executive Director to replace Kwame Carr.

·    Dr. Sean Kelly, Principal of Chapel Hill High School, has been named Executive Director of Curriculum

·    Chestnut Log Middle School Assistant Principal Keith Racine has been named Principal of New Manchester Elementary School.

·    Chapel Hill High School Assistant Principal Raymond Leonard has been named Principal of Factory Shoals Middle School to replace Angela Carter.

·    Kimberly Wood, Teacher at New Manchester Elementary School, has been named Math Content Specialist

·    Cindy Allen, Teacher at Chapel Hill Middle School, has been named Assistant Principal at Chapel Hill Middle School. 

Superintendent Trent North says the new assignments are part of a strategic plan designed to provide effective support for our school administrators and students. “I hope that with these changes, we can continue to provide a safe learning environment that remains focused on continued student improvement,” North explains. “These new leaders and leadership roles will enhance our efforts to graduate students prepared for college and career success.” 

With the exception of Mr. Carr, all of the above positions will be effective July 1, 2018.
