Ms. Sheri Moore

Congratulations to Miss Sheri Moore, Resource Teacher, on being named Holly Springs' 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year.

I am a unique bird…

I was born and raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  I moved to Florida when I was twelve and finished my education there graduating from Coral Springs High School in 1984.  I have lived in Georgia for twenty-five years and I love it! I am the proud mother of two wonderful boys: Chris, age 29 and Daniel, age 27.  My career in education began as a paraprofessional at Arbor Station Elementary in 1997.  I had the privilege of working there for two years under the leadership of Elaine Hopkins.  In 1999, I had the honor of becoming a part of her “dream team” transferring to open Holly Springs Elementary School. Go Hawks! I have been influenced by many amazing educators who have inspired me to go back to school and earn my teaching degree. I entered college at the age of 35.  I was petrified to say the least.  I attended Mercer University where I earned a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education in May 2007.  I completed my student teaching at Holly Springs Elementary and was hired that same year.  I am currently a Special Education teacher at Holly Springs Elementary School where I have had the privilege of working the past nine years. This journey has taught me that jumping out of the safety of your nest is scary…but earning your wings and being able to fly back home is priceless!
